I decided in 2021 that it would be my last year of shooting large weddings.

It was a tough decision but after 23 years of busting my butt weekend after weekend my body fought back screaming and begging me to take it easy. It’s a physical job that you can only truly understand if you have done it yourself. So it was with an exhausted and heavy heart that I decided to hang up the long days on my feet, feeling all the emotions for my clients while also holding in my pee or not eating because you just can’t stop when things are happening. I’m not mad about the not being able to stop and use the restroom or shovel food into my face but you get what I’m saying.

My next thought was what if I could still capture all the excitement and love surrounding a wedding day but keep it to a small number of hours. So I thought what about elopements?! I’m talking small like maybe only 2-3 hours. In these days of Covid, small and simple seems to be the way to go and it’s a nice change of pace.

So yes, I am definitely done with those big weddings but I still want to keep one toe dipped in the pool of nuptials. I want to celebrate your unique and intimate wedding in any way you see fit. If that means you want to meet at the courthouse and then head out for some portraits then let’s do it. If you are having a backyard fiesta, I’m in or if you have some other wild idea on how to make your wedding day your very own, of course I want to be there!
